This blog presents a visual archive of the school lunches eaten by a non-Korean English teacher in Daegu, South Korea.

Clockwise from top left: daikon kimchi; fried slab of odaeng accompanied by blob of gochujang; stir-fried anchovies with sesame seeds; chicken soup with daikon and japchae noodles; rice; (not shown) chestnut steamed in ddeok. A co-worker told me that the school nutritionist told him that she intended to include garlic shoots with the anchovies, but the rising price of kimchi has affected the prices of many other ingredients, so the garlic shoots would have broken the budget.
